From the first days of independence the introduction of information and communication technologies (ICT) has become one of the priority tasks of the state policy inUzbekistan, which contributes to the achievement of significant results in the formation of the national information space and the enhancement of the management systems efficiency.

On April 15 of this year Tashkent hosted a seminar on the theme "Improvement of official websites of state bodies and the order of rendering of electronic state services". The event was organized by the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis (Parliament) of the Republic of Uzbekistan jointly with the Ministry for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications.

Uzbekistan has been constantly moving towards building a democratic state and strong civil society during the years of independence. The system of organizational and legal safeguards is formed to ensure the participation of citizens in public administration, the independent decision of local issues through the unique institution of mahalla.

Tashkent hosted an international conference "Mechanisms for enhancing the effectiveness of enforcement of laws: national and international experience".

Main purpose of the event was to exchange experience in the sphere of ensuring the unified application of laws, bringing the adopted laws to the notice of executors and the public, to increase the responsibility of officials in these processes.

A mobile stand-along solar power station with the capacity of 1.2 megawatt was commissioned in Bukhara region of Uzbekistan. The station has no analogues in the CIS.
