The UN General Assembly adopted by consensus, without a vote, the resolution Peaceful Settlement of Border Disputes, introduced by Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan and co-sponsored by 40 states. Akramjon Nematov, First Deputy Director of the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of Uzbekistan, commented to IA Dunyo on the significance of the adopted document in the context of changing perceptions of our region on the international stage.

- This is truly a historic event of fundamental importance both for Central Asia and for the entire contemporary international practice. The fact that the resolution was adopted unanimously, without a formal vote, testifies to the unconditional support for and high level of trust in our region on the part of the international community. I would especially emphasize that dozens of countries acted as co-authors of the document, but the key initiators, acting in solidarity and on equal terms, were Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.

In today's challenging times, the fight against terrorism remains one of the most important tasks for the international community. In this context, the joint search for effective solutions to combat this dangerous phenomenon, which knows no borders, nationality, or religion, has become especially relevant.

It is noteworthy that recently, an integral part of the foreign policy of the Republic of Uzbekistan has been the creation of effective mechanisms for counter-terrorism cooperation. This cooperation aims to strengthen security, protect citizens, and combat extremism.

Azamat Bobokulovich Toshev-Deputy Chairman of the Committee of the interethnic relations and friendly cooperation with foreign countries.

For thousands of years, Uzbekistan has become a world civilization where representatives of various nationalities and religions lived in peace, and where the cultures of different peoples enriched each other. As an important factor in the development of New Uzbekistan, special attention was paid to strengthening of interethnic solidarity and friendly relations with foreign countries, and the legal basis was created for ensuring equal rights and freedom of representatives of 16 religious denominations, more than 130 nationalities and ethnic groups living in our country.

The main goal of the state policy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the field of interethnic relations is to ensure the equality of citizens before the law, regardless of gender, race, nationality, language, religion, social origin, faith, personal and social status, as well as strengthening the unity of the multiethnic people of Uzbekistan, the atmosphere of interethnic harmony in society, it is defined as the expansion of friendly relations with foreign countries, the creation of conditions for the preservation and development of the mother tongue, customs and traditions of different nationalities and ethnic groups.

The main driving force behind the development of anti-corruption strategies is Article 5 of the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC), which obliges member countries to maintain “effective, coordinated anti-corruption policies”.

In Uzbekistan, the rapid anti-corruption reforms began in 2017. On January 16, 2016, the Government of Uzbekistan issued the first policy statement, titled “Comprehensive Plan of Practical Actions for the Implementation of Anti-Corruption Measures for 2016-2017.” Its adoption at that time was considered significant progress by experts within the IAP. Comprehensive plans have not been able to take the role of a more or less comprehensive strategy, although they can be employed in isolation as minimum effective measures.
