The great Uzbek poet revered worldwide

From the first days of independence under the leadership of President Islam Karimov Uzbekistan carries out extensive work on revival and enhancement of national values, to perpetuate memory of our great ancestors, who made an invaluable contribution to world civilization, study and promotion of their rich heritage. A prominent Uzbek poet, thinker, statesman Nizamiddin Mir Alisher Navoi occupies a special place in their series.

Uzbekistan: protecting the nature reserves

Protected areas play an important role in preservation and restoration of many species of animals and plants, especially endangered. They also serve as natural laboratories where scientists carry out their research. Further development of these areas is crucial task of the state and society.

It was emphasized at the round table meeting held in Tashkent which discussed the issues of development and expansion of protected areas.

Uzbekistan has eight registered nature reserves, two national parks, the Lower Amudarya State Biosphere Reserve, the Republican Center for breeding of rare species of animals "Adelia", and seven natural monuments. The total area of these protected natural areas is about 2.4 million hectares.

Investors Look at Scale

A JV Insulators and Fittings Plant was the first company with Russian capital, which was established in the Angren special industrial zone in 2015.

The share of Russian investors in the authorized capital of the joint venture was 53%. In the short term it is planning to establish several more joint ventures with investors from Russia. They will be promoted by an ongoing program of economic cooperation between the governments of the two countries for 2013-2017, focusing not only on the oil and gas industry, but also on mechanical engineering, construction materials, chemical, electrical, food and light industries.

Uzbek FM holds talks with US officials in Washington

A delegation of Uzbekistan led by Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulaziz Kamilov held negotiations and meetings with the US officials on 19-21 January 2015.

The Uzbek delegation is paying visit to Washington to participate in the sixth round of Uzbek-US political consultations.

In particular, the Uzbek delegation led a meeting with the Senior Director for South Asia, US National Security Council Peter Laveau.
